**About Permits
The City of Tucson wants you to get a permit on every job. In most cases, we install new water heaters and leave it up the the homeowner to obtain the needed permit, if they wish. A permit can be obtained by the home owner or the contractor. Getting a permit can be a time consuming proposition as you have to go down to the city to get one, and you will have to schedule the inspection on their time. They do give you a window of time to wait at home for them (1 full day).

Warning: Not all contractors are created equal. Arico Plumbing Inc will do work to code, and it might be safe for you to obtain a permit where you feel it prudent. Also, if you do not obtain a permit and you later get a permit for other work (like a new furnace) and the inspector sees you might have a new water heater, he will require you to get a permit on the new water heater as well.
