Heat Pump Package
An AC Split System is an Air Conditioning system that has a condenser box outside the building and a furnace located inside the building.
An AC Package System is an Air Conditioner and a Gas Furnace build within one unit, it has an entry duct and an exit duct. These units use electric for cooling and natural gas for heating.
A Heat Pump Split system uses electric to heat and cool. These units have a condenser box outside and a blower/coil inside the building.
A Heat Pump Package system is a device that uses electric to heat and cool. The package part means that it is all self contained, it has an entry duct and an exit duct.
As a general rule of thumb for Tucson, you should figure 1.0 Ton for each 400 square feet of living space. This depends on many factors but it's a good starting point. For example, a 5 Ton unit will cool a 2000 square foot home.
SEER rating are the method used to describe the efficiency of a particular equipment system. SEER stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio". The systems purchased today typically range from 10.00 SEER to 18.00 SEER. If you have a home and the current system is 10-15 years old, you may have a system that ranges from 6.0 SEER to 10.00 SEER. Of course at the time it was installed, 10.00 SEER was considered "High Efficiency". Today, with all the focus on conservation and energy savings, that "High Efficiency 10.00 SEER" from 10-15 years ago is growing obsolete.
BTUs/h = This is a measure of the heating capacity per hour.
ARI = Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute. This is a reference number that is place on most complete systems. It is basically a way to describe a set of individual parts that make an advertised system.
Pricing includes a Thermostat, Compressor (outside), Furnace (inside) and the minor parts that are required to install the system.

Pipe cleaning acid for removing R-22 oil. ($150)
Installations in attics or hard to access locations.
